STOLON
The stolon is a thin creeping stem that arises at the base of the stem of some plants (called stoloniferous plants), from whose nodes roots and leaves are born. It is normally used to multiply plants.Typical examples of stoloniferous plants are strawberries, the Saxifraga stolonifera, Trifolium repens and many others.
